Dennis L. Martire Makes His Union Better For Workers and Employers
Over the past three decades with the Laborers’ International Union of North America (LiUNA), Dennis L. Martire has been a leader on many very successful LiUNA initia-tives, like the one that gave workers on Fluor-Lane’s expansion of Route 495 Hot Lanes Project a choice on whether to join this prestigious union. That turned out to be a critical initiative, since those workers voted overwhelmingly to become members of LiUNA Local 11. That was easily one of the most impressive union victories in the construction industry in the state of Virginia to happen in many years. Dennis L. Martire subsequently went on to the union’s Laborers’ Construction Department, first as an assistant Director and then as the Director of that department.
Dennis L. Martire’s career with LiUNA began way back in 1990 which was three decades ago, but even 30 years later, Dennis still serves as a Vice President and Mid-Atlantic Regional Manager for the century-old labor union. He has fulfilled that role to the best of his ability since January 2002. That’s actually quite a far distance from when his career actually started way back in April of 1990. Back then, he became an International Representative for the LIUNA Jurisdictional Disputes Department.
